We are IN-NETWORK with most health insurances!
Tired of dealing with rough, dull-looking skin? Do you have a lot of sun damage or fine lines? Maybe clogged pores have got you down. If any of these describe you, microdermabrasion might be the perfect treatment choice for your skin. And you’re in luck: Focus Total Health offers this procedure at all three of our offices!
What is Microdermabrasion?
This skin care treatment is less invasive than dermabrasion and only affects the topmost layer of skin. Using an abrasive instrument, we will gently exfoliate off the top layer of skin, which is usually thicker and bears the markings of aging, sun exposure, and environmental damage.
We use a diamond tipped implement and suction that acts as the sander. By removing the top layer of skin, this treatment encourages the production of new skin and stimulates collagen production, both of which act to smooth out skin’s texture and give you a more youthful appearance.
What Conditions Can Microdermabrasion Treat?
Any mild skin problem can be addressed using microdermabrasion. From active acne to light acne scarring to hyperpigmentation, it can smooth the skin and promote collagen. It can also be used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is even effective on reducing some stretch marks.
Following treatment, your skin will be a little red for a few hours and you will need to be cautious of sun exposure. The aging process decreases the amount of collagen in your skin, leaving it looking saggy, loose, and wrinkly. Microdermabrasion is a gentle way to kick collagen into high gear and to give your skin back some of its youthful vigor.
